What happens if you put a plastic bag in your washing machine?

Indispensable in every home, the washing machine must be maintained as well as possible in order to benefit from its abilities for as long as possible. As you know, even the most modern machines are not always able to effectively avoid certain pests such as hair, animal hair or all kinds of fluff. Especially when it comes to blankets and bedding that your pets have sat on.

To solve this problem, some people buy special lint balls for machine washing. But they are not always conclusive: being too small, they quickly lose their effectiveness, they stick to clothes and do not move correctly in the drum, their action is mainly local.

However, do not be discouraged, there is another solution, certainly unusual but functional. To get rid of all that hair and lint for good, a plastic bag will do the trick.

Therefore, a simple ordinary plastic bag will increase washing efficiency, extend the life of your washing machine, and even save you money on detergent.

It has been shown that static electricity builds up inside the appliance during washing, due to the clothes rubbing against each other and against the surface of the drum. As a result, the plastic bag will attract all the hair, animal fur, lint, and other textile debris.

Another advantage: it allows the detergent to be distributed evenly during the wash, which will prevent you from using more than necessary.

One piece of advice: it is better not to use a printed bag, as it can rub and damage the fabrics. Always prefer a transparent bag with a neutral color.

NB : This trick also helps prolong the life of your washing machine filters, as dirt will also accumulate in the bag.
