Why do beer bottles have long necks?

When you open a bottle of beer, you notice that its neck is long and narrow. Have you ever wondered about this design choice? In truth, this design has been perfectly thought out to make it easier for you to handle the beer.
In fact, the bottle was designed with this shape and length precisely so that your hand can hold the beer at the top. Holding it by this long neck, you avoid touching the body of the bottle. First, it is more ergonomic, but also prevents the drink from heating up faster. And the connoisseurs will tell you, there is nothing more unpleasant than a hot beer. Especially in summer when it is eaten very fresh to quench thirst.
But by the way, should it be served in a glass or enjoyed straight from the bottle? Opinions are often very divided on the subject. The defenders of the glass will tell you that the aromas are more pronounced and that we appreciate the texture of the beer more. As for the others, they ensure that the beer per glass is exposed to the sun’s rays and that the aromas of the hops will alter very quickly if the drink is outdoors. Not to mention that the glass must be impeccable in terms of cleanliness: if it is dusty, you will immediately have an excess of foam and the tasting will immediately be less pleasant. Finally, the last argument of the defenders of the bottle is that the drink is much more sparkling in its container.

The old foolproof technique
This is one of the oldest methods and surely the most effective. You will need water, ice cubes and salt. Here’s how to proceed: in a container containing 25 cl of water, pour 2 tablespoons of salt. Stir for a few seconds. Put the beer bottle in it and add about fifteen ice cubes. A reaction will take place after the fusion of water and salt: they will absorb energy and heat. You’ll have a cold drink in less than five minutes.
Another quick and easy method: Simply moisten a few absorbent paper towels and wrap them around your beer can or bottle. Then put it in the freezer for ten minutes. You can also chill it directly in the fridge, but for this technique to work properly, the damp paper must be soaked in salt.
did you know Thanks to its aluminum and its opacity, unlike the glass bottle, the can is much more resistant to heat. As a bonus, it also tends to cool down faster. Not to mention that it is more airtight, easily recyclable and lighter to transport. If you want to enjoy a good cold beer, go for the can!
