If you are looking for an ecological alternative to traditional paper packaging, this Japanese trick is simple and practical to perform. Originally from Japan, this packaging technique does not use paper, tape or ribbon. To make your gift wrapping with the Furoshiki method, special attention must be paid to the choice of fabric. In fact, the latter must be adapted to the size of your gift: square in shape and larger than the format of the article. Also, the fabric should be flexible so that the knots are easy to tie. It can be a large pareo, a scarf or a beautiful scarf. In addition to being practical for wrapping your gifts, the fabric used can also be used as a practical and economical second gift.

To make your packaging with the Japanese method, place your object diagonally on the chosen fabric and then connect the first two ends by tying a knot. Do the same with the other two ends before tying the fabric to your liking. In this way, the fabric can be adjusted to the dimensions of the object and, thanks to the shape of the chosen knot, it will give a clean and aesthetic appearance to your gift. The advantage of this trick is that you can repeat it several times until you get the desired result and add small decorative accessories.
