This product extracted from neem seeds effectively fights mealybugs by blocking their respiratory system. Mixed with a liquid soap like Castile soap, these parasites will become trapped in a waterproof layer of soap and suffocate to death.

Here’s how to prepare a natural treatment to apply directly to the leaves of infested plants:

  1. Mix 2 teaspoons of liquid soap (castile soap or potassium soap) with 2 tablespoons of Neem oil in a container filled with 3.5 liters of warm water.
  2. Then, shake the repellent solution in a spray bottle.
  3. Spray the infested plants and you will get rid of these pests!

Another similar tip:

  1. Dissolve 50 g of Marseille soap shavings or Castile soap in 350 ml of hot water.
  2. After you get a liquid solution, soak a sponge or cloth in this soapy water.
  3. Then pass the cloth over the leaves of the infested plant.

  • 1 liter of water
  • 4 to 5 garlic cloves finely grated
  • 1 tablespoon of biodegradable liquid soap (soaps made with saponified vegetable oils: Marseille soap, Castile soap or soap made with coconut oil)

After mixing the ingredients:

  1. Take the time to thoroughly scrub infested plant stems with an old toothbrush or use a strong stream of water to loosen them from the plants.
  2. Then spray this natural treatment on the leaves and stems of the infested plants.

The soap and garlic will help get rid of mealybugs and prevent future infestations. Do not hesitate to spray the plant with your spray insecticide every 4 days.

How to treat cochineal with natural diatomaceous earth?

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of black soap
  • 1 liter of water

Pour everything into a spray bottle and stir well! Then spray your plants and wait a week to repeat this operation. It is ideal for cleaning orchids and other indoor plants.

Mealybugs, larvae and laid eggs will magically disappear from your foliage!

How to control mealybugs with isopropyl alcohol?

Isopropyl alcohol alone can be effective in killing mealybugs. This will repel them from your plants and stop their progress.
